Morning Keynote: Sharon E. Smaldino

Sharon E. Smaldino is the LD & Ruth G. Morgridge Endowed Chair in the College of Education at Northern Illinois University. She has taught courses for both undergraduates and graduates related to the integration of technology into learning. She has conducted many workshops on active learning strategies and technology applications. She has presented at national and international conferences and co-authored several books including: Instructional Technology and Media for Learning, Teaching at a Distance: Foundations for Distance Learning, and Planning for Interactive Distance Education: A Handbook. Currently, she is the President of AECT.

Afternoon Panel Keynote: J. Ana Donaldson
J. Ana Donaldson is an Assistant Professor of Instructional Technology at the University of Northern Iowa. For many years, she has presented workshops to in-service and pre-service teachers on how to integrate technology into an engaged learning environment. Her workshops provide guidelines and practical strategies for effectively using technology to apply the principles of engaged learning within today's classroom. Besides her years of classroom experience in creating web supported learning environments, she is a published author, keynote speaker and international presenter. She has presented at conferences sponsored by the University of Wisconsin (Annual Conference on Distance Teaching and Learning), International Visual Literacy Association, the Association for Educational Communication and Technology (AECT) and the Iowa Distance Learning Association (IDLA) on a variety of engaged learning topics. She is co-author with Rita-Marie Conrad of Engaging the Online Learner: Activities for Creative Instruction (2004).
