Six Steps to Financial Success

 Workshop Description:

During these difficult financial times, each of us needs skills and knowledge to manage our financial situation. Employment Services and ACTC Human Resources Officers are working with Principal Financial Group to deliver valuable workshops for all members of the Macalester and ACTC communities. This 90 minute workshop will provide you with sound financial information and help you identify your goals and make wise decisions to improve your financial situation. This IS NOT a solicitation for a business relationship with Principal Financial Group. 

Workshop Objectives:

-          You will better understand your financial situation and create your goals

-          You will be able to make informed decisions regarding your financial situation.

-          You will have the skills to take the next steps to reach your financial goals.

 Workshop Materials:

-          A workbook that is designed to help you apply what you learn to your specific situation. This book reinforces the workshop’s major points and will be a valuable resource for you.  In this book you will also find helpful exercises, worksheets, and self-analysis quizzes. You can keep the book.

-          Workshop slides with informative graphics to make it easy for you to follow the presentation.

Estate Conservation Seminar

Workshop Description:

Estate Conservation helps you educate clients and prospects about the need for careful action when it comes to managing an estate.  The seminar illustrates the problems, delays, and expenses that often accompany intestacy and probate.  The estate distribution techniques associated with wills are presented, and trusts are introduced as a vehicle that can help many people overcome the challenges of estate distribution.

Long Term Care

Workshop Description:

Long-Term Care dispels common misconceptions, such as "It will never happen to me" and "Medicare will pay for it."  The peril of relying on family members for care is also examined.  Long term care insurance is presented as a critical part of financial management for people who want to protect their assets, preserve their dignity, and choose the kind of care they receive.

Charitable Giving

Workshop Description:

Tax Strategies

Workshop Description:

Tax laws are constantly changing. They can have a substantial effect not only on personal income taxes and estate taxes, but also on investing strategies.  Tax Strategies drills down on changes that have been made to income tax rates, tax credits, the AMT, capital gains and dividends, retirement plan contribution limits, and more.
