ACADEMIC PROGRAMS

Women's Studies is an interdisciplinary program
which draws on the extensive body of research on women to help its students better understand women's experience of the past and to analyze women's situation today, nationally and globally. Since its theory incorporates not only gender but also race, and class differences, Women's Studies coursework also helps students develop informed awareness of cultural diversity and the process of social transformation.

A preparation in Women's Studies supports
career choices in human services, education, corporations, and public service organizations, as well as providing a basis for graduate study. Women's Studies graduates can be found in such positions as Director of Human Relations and Personnel offices, Affirmative Action offices, Public Relations firms; as Administrators of organizations serving women and girls; as staff members of Women's Research Centers.

For more information about the program,
contact ACTC Women's Studies Program Coordinator, Joanne Cavallaro (651-690-6867) or contact the on-campus Program Director at the school you're interested in attending.
